水出しピッチャー Mizudashi Cold Brew Filter Pitcher

$15.00

During the summertime, nearly every household has a pitcher of some form of iced tea, ranging from thirst-quenching roasted barley mugicha or buckwheat soba-cha to traditional green or oolong teas. Compared to brewing with hot water, cold brewing draws out a gentle, sweeter grassiness in the tea without any bitterness from the leaf. We use multiple of these Hario glass filter pitchers everyday, each holding a different tea in the fridge and simply topping off with water once or twice before changing out new leaves.

Developed for the Japanese Tea Industry Cooperative Union, in particular with this pitcher we like that loose leaf tea can be thrown in and allowed to fully expand as it brews, there is nothing in contact with the tea but the glass and water, and the filter is fine enough to hold back even the smallest fukamushi sencha leaves as the tea is poured out. It’s also extremely easy to clean (simply snap off the filter from the inner part of the lid). If needed, a toothbrush can be used to gently scrub the filter if leaves are stuck.

Holds 1000ml. Dimensions: W 84mm x D 82mm x H 265mm

  • Features Hario's signature heatproof glass.

  • Body: Heatproof glass, dishwasher safe. Cadmium & Lead Free

  • Lid, Strainer, frame: polypropylene
